The Neighborhood Improvement Association is dedicated to helping the youth plan for their financial future. We have developed a Youth IDA Program with a focus on financial education. The Wall Street Club is designed to help youth make financially sound and well informed decisions. Students “earn” money by redeeming good grades, community service hours and attending financial literacy workshops.
We want the students to increase their knowledge on financial planning and the acquisition of sound money management skills. The belief of competence in properly managing one’s finances results from learned attitudes and beliefs about money. Providing basic financial planning education to young people today will help to create a population of more fiscally responsible and self-reliant adult tomorrow.
The goal of the Wall Street Club is to educate high school juniors and seniors on financial planning and the acquisition of sound money-management skills. We believe that the competence in properly managing one’s finances results from learned attitudes and beliefs about money. Providing basic financial planning education, community service opportunities, and post high school planning sessions (college tours, military recruiter sessions, mission opportunities, etc…) to young people will help to create a population of more fiscally responsible and self-reliant adults tomorrow.
