The Neighborhood Improvement Association offers first-time homebuyers a chance to save money for a down payment for a new home. The program lasts 12 to 24 months and is designed to reward low-to-moderate income families for monthly saving by offering a 3 to 1 match up to $1200. To qualify participants must be income eligible, open a joint savings account with the Neighborhood Improvement Association and save a total of $1,200 during the course of the program. Upon closing the Neighborhood Improvement Association will issue a check for $3,600 to the closing attorney on the participant's behalf.
